Step 1: Start with Magic Ring or Chain
For this project, we are doing what’s called “crocheting in the round”. This means instead of starting with a chain the length of your project, you’ll start with a small circle and work out from there. The most popular method is the Magic Ring, it is easier to see than explain so I would recommend checking out some videos.

However I prefer to use this method:
Chain 2-4, join to first chain with a slip stitch, and continue working in the circle you just made
Rnd 0
Using brown, make a magic circle or use the method above.
Step 2: Create Pistol (center)
*Chain 2 to start each row
Rnd 1
Make 12 dc in the circle, not counting the first chain 2
Ending number of stitches in round: 12
Rnd 2
In the first stitch hole, make 2 single crochets.
This is what is called increasing.
Follow this pattern around the rest of the 6 stitches.
Ending number of stitches in round: 24
Step 3: Create Petals
Change to yellow yarn
To make the point of the stitches, we will use what is called a picot stitch.

Rnd 3
In the first stitch: chain 2, triple crochet, chain 2, picot: slip stitch in 2nd chain from the hook
In the next stitch: triple crochet, double crochet
Slip stitch in the third stitch to complete the petal, start your next petal here.
Keep repeating this pattern to the end.
And that it! Make a few of these to create a set, use them as is or display them in a small plant pot to create an eye-catching but practical decoration.
